Barossa Valley Syrah
Wine
Spinifex Barossa Valley Syrah is drawn from several old vine high altitude Barossa and Eden Valley vineyards where the vine age averages over 50 years.
The soils are for the most part light, gravelly and silty sands over deeply weathered base rocks.
The handpicked fruit is destemmed and fermented as whole berries with some whole bunch inclusion. Fermentation takes place in a combination of stainless steel, wood and concrete fermenters with indigenous yeast.
The wine matures in French oak on light lees for eight months. It is bottled without filtration.
Deep garnet, Spinifex Barossa Valley Syrah is supple with deep aromatics and Barossa Shiraz character. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
